Floyd's Pelican Bar [Private Transportation]
Floyd's Pelican Bar [Private Transportation] is a water activity in Jamaica rated 5.0/5 by 13 Viator travelers; from about $123 per person; lasts 4.5 hours.
About
Floyd's Pelican Bar is a wooden shack built on stilts in the middle of the ocean off the south coast, and getting there is half the show. You ride out in a small boat—about 20 minutes from Parottee Bay—and climb up a ladder. The bar serves Red Stripe and grilled fish, the floor is part sand, and the whole thing sways. It's raw, not polished, which is the draw. This is a four-and-a-half-hour tour that includes transport from Montego Bay, so most of the time is getting there and back. The 13 Viator reviews average five stars, which tracks—people either love the novelty or wouldn't have gone in the first place. Floyd built it himself decades ago, and it's still his operation. Expect no bathroom, no shade if it's crowded, and a lot of other tourists taking the same photo. The water's shallow enough to jump in, and you should.
