About

Puerto Seco Beach sits west of Montego Bay proper, tucked along the coast before you hit Negril. The 3.3 rating from 11 reviews suggests it's fine but not spectacular — which tracks with what you see on the ground. Swimming and snorkeling both clock in as middling, and there's no shade infrastructure to speak of, so you're either under an umbrella you brought or you're cooking. The crowd level runs moderate, and it's not particularly geared toward families — more of a low-key local spot than a resort beach with all the trimmings. No facilities means no bathrooms or food stands right on the sand, so plan accordingly. It's the kind of place you go when you want to skip the scene at Doctor's Cave or Cornwall Beach and don't mind trading polish for elbow room. Bring water, bring cash for whatever's nearby, and keep expectations realistic.

This is the secondary buffet that opened a few minutes later when the line at the indoor buffet got too long. Many seniors in our group could not wait in a line for food over an hour in the heat. There was no table service in the cafeteria they called an “eatery”.© TripAdvisor contributor via TripAdvisor
