Each morning i would rise around 7:00am and sit in a chair on the veranda studying the ocean's rise and fall. With loving kindness one of her staff would serve me a delicious cup of cappichino to jump start my day. Around 8:30, one of the amazingly gifted yoga instructors would arrive and guide the guests through a practice to engage mind, body and soul in the healing process. When i see this picture I am reminded of the benefits of space and time.

Jackie's on the Reef is a 4.5-star resort in Negril with 100 rooms rated 4.7/5 by 197 TripAdvisor reviewers; typical rates from about $220 a night; direct beach access.

About

Jackie's on the Reef is on Negril's West End cliffs, where the rooms open directly onto the water instead of a beach. The 4.9 cleanliness rating and 4.8 service score aren't accidental—this is a 100-room property that runs more like a boutique than a resort. It's not all-inclusive, which changes the rhythm; you eat where you want, you move when you want, and the vibe stays quiet. The west-facing coast puts it on the Caribbean side, so sargassum is rarely an issue. Rooms, sleep quality, and value all land at 4.7, which is consistent enough to trust. It's not adults-only, but with a party score of 1 and wellness in the tags, families looking for nonstop programming should look elsewhere. Nightly rates around $400 put it in the mid-range for Negril. No swim-up bars, no casino, no kids' club. If that sounds like a problem, it's not your place. If it sounds like relief, you're in the right spot.
