The Honeymoon

Six days in Jamaica as newlyweds means claiming your own rhythm — long mornings on private beach stretches, afternoons that shift from adrenaline to lazy, and evenings that end with your feet in the sand. This itinerary balances grown-up indulgence (cliffside sunsets, couples spa time, a sail you'll remember) with just enough movement to feel like you actually went somewhere. Zero kids, zero crowds you don't choose.

  1. Day 1

    Arrival & Settle In

    Afternoon

Land at Sangster, grab your private transfer, and head straight to your adults-only resort. Check in, unpack slowly, and claim a spot by the water — you've earned the right to do absolutely nothing today.

    Evening

Dinner at the resort tonight — pick the quietest restaurant they have, order something you can't pronounce, and toast to the fact that you're married and on an island. Early bed is not a failure.

  2. Day 2

    Beach Day & Sunset Sail

    Morning

Sleep in, then post up on Seven Mile Beach or your resort's private cove. Swim when it's hot, nap when it's not. Bring a book you won't read.

    Afternoon

Couples massage at the spa — book the oceanfront room if they have one. You'll float out of there.

    Evening

Board a private catamaran for sunset. Open bar, light snacks, just the two of you and the crew. The water glows orange, the music stays low, and you'll understand why people write vows about moments like this.

  3. Day 3

Adventure Day — Waterfalls & River

    Morning

Head inland to Blue Hole with a private guide — fewer tourists, deeper pools, and you can actually hear the water. Wade, climb, jump if you're feeling it. The limestone terraces are slippery and perfect.

    Afternoon

Drift down White River on an inner tube. It's slow, shaded, and the only effort required is steering around rocks. Your guide will point out birds and probably offer you a Red Stripe.

    Evening

Back to the resort for a late dinner. You've earned the fancy spot — oceanfront table, wine pairing, the works.

  4. Day 4

    Splurge Day — Cliffs, Caves & Rick's

    Morning

Sleep in again. This is your honeymoon — no one's judging breakfast at 11.

    Afternoon

Private driver takes you to The Caves or another cliffside spot for a long, lazy lunch. Swim in the grottos, explore the rock formations, order cocktails that arrive in coconuts. This is the splurge moment.

    Evening

End the day at Rick's Café for sunset and cliff diving. It's touristy, yes, but it's also genuinely fun — the energy's infectious, the views are unreal, and watching locals leap from 35 feet never gets old.

  5. Day 5

    South Coast Exploration

    Morning

Drive the South Coast to YS Falls — it's quieter than the north-side waterfalls, with seven tiers, rope swings, and natural pools you can actually enjoy without a crowd. Swim, climb, repeat.

    Afternoon

Stop at Black River for a crocodile safari through the mangroves — it's slow, narrated, and cooler than it sounds. Then hit Pelican Bar, a tiny wooden shack on stilts in the middle of the ocean. Cold beer, grilled fish, zero pretense.

    Evening

Swing by Appleton Estate on the way back for a rum tasting. The 21-year is the one you'll remember.

  6. Day 6

    Last Morning & Departure

    Morning

One final swim, one final breakfast by the water. Pack slowly, tip generously, and soak in the fact that you're leaving married and tan.

    Afternoon

Private transfer back to the airport. Window seat for the last look at the coastline.

Know before you go

  • Book your couples massage and private catamaran as soon as you arrive — both fill up fast at adults-only resorts.
  • Bring reef-safe sunscreen and water shoes — the limestone at Blue Hole and YS Falls is gorgeous but slippery.
  • Rick's Café gets packed at sunset; arrive by 5 PM to claim a good spot on the cliffs.
  • Private drivers cost more than shared shuttles, but for a honeymoon the flexibility and privacy are worth it.
  • Most all-inclusives cover meals and drinks on-site, but budget extra for off-resort experiences like Pelican Bar and Appleton tastings.
  • The South Coast drive is long but stunning — leave early and build in time for photo stops along the way.
  • Tipping isn't always included at all-inclusives; bring small USD bills for guides, drivers, and spa staff.
  • If you're staying in Negril, The Caves or Rockhouse make incredible half-day splurges even if you're not a guest — book lunch and grotto access in advance.
